What is an order of service

An Order of Service is a book of events for a service or ceremony. Order of services are a step by step itinerary of what your guests should expect throughout the ceremony. Each Ceremony is different and the itinerary of events should be confirmed with your Vicar/Priest ect.

what do i include in my order of service

  1. Your first step is to chat to your Vicar/Priest to check what is to be included in the Order of Service for example what Hymns, Prayers ect. The Vicar/Priest will give you the itinerary and order in which the service will be presented. At this point you will choose your hymns, prayers and get a better idea of how the service will proceed. It is important you discuss these first steps with your Vicar/Priest as soon as you can.
  2. The order of service is used as a guide for your guests detailing the order of the service and printed words to the hymns or songs too. You'll need to choose your wedding music and make sure your celebrant is happy with your choices. Some couples who are having a religious ceremony like to include the complete wording for the ceremony, but again this should be discussed with Vicar/Priest.
