Wedding Stationery Ideas Inspiration and Trends

Hello and welcome to Amor Designs blog. I'm Monserrat, owner, designer and maker of beautiful wedding stationery. Follow my blog for the latest wedding stationery trends, including my own original and unique invitation designs, general wedding chat and things that I love and inspire me.  My inspiration of design comes from the latest voguish styles, the latest ultra-modern fashions to the traditional vintage and retro eras. Each fashion era had its own fresh style and classy look, which you will find has wriggled back in modern day styling. These timeless fashions are an important part of my design, so I hope you find my blog inspiring and you use it for your own wedding preparations.

  2. A while ago I ordered some beautiful Laser Cut Envelopes from my supplier, with the intention of designing a new invitation collection. I wanted to create something unique and fresh, a new design without the bling but keeping the invitation elegant.

So here is the first new invitation collection for 2017, a beautiful Rustic Style Laser Cut envelope that's laced with pretty lace detailing. I have kept this rustic design simple, but at the same time I love how elegant the invitation looks with all its lace and pearl detailing. The rustic invitations have matching laser cut envelopes and the design is finished with a dreamy flowy thin ribbon bow in ivory to complement the ivory pearlescent laser cut envelope. The intricate detailing of this beautiful textured card gives the appearance of lace on card. It has a slight pearlised texture to the card allowing the invitation to shimmer in any light.

The fonts used in this design have been chosen for their flowy rustic elegance, to keep the invitation stylish with lots of charm. There are 2 fonts used, a beautiful elegant Script bold font that has swashes and swirls for the Names of the Bride and Groom, the guests names and rsvp and for the rest of the wording a  rustic country western font that complements the whole design really well.

Rustic style can be mixed with soft accent colours, like blush pinks, sage green colours, any light and airy neautral colour goes well with rustic. You can create Vintage rustic, shabby chic and elegant wedding schemes.

This is my other new laser cut design below, a more elegant and feminine invitation that would be ideal for a spring or summer wedding. I have used soft palette colours as accents for the floral inserts, to keep the Laced envelope the star of the show. The front of this beautiful laser cut envelope has been adorned with a soft fabric rose with pearl detailing in the centre.

The inserts have been printed on shimmery pearlescent card and have a gorgeous flower border. To make the invitations extra special I embellished the flowers with tiny pearl and crystal embellishments. The invitation looks classy and stylish and the detailing is all in the lasercut design of the envelope.

I hope you love these designs just as much as i have loved designing and creating them. If you do want a sample just go to the online shop.

  3. As 2016 comes to an end I thought I would update you on everything that has happened since January of 2016. A hectic year, but mostly all exciting!

In January 2016 I launched the new look website. A bit of stressful start to the year, but it was something on my to do list that was a priority. With more and more customers now using mobile and ipads to do their shopping, our last website provider could not change our website to mobile compatible unless we started again with a new website. With this in mind I decided to use a new provider and in two weeks I had finished creating a lovely new website for the business. Its actually taken up until now to get it the way I wanted it to look! So far I am really pleased with it, although there is always room for improvement. Feel free to comment if I have missed anything out or if there is anything that you would like adding. It has been hard work with a few tantrums along the way when I couldnt get it to look perfect and struggled to do certain things, but I have a great website account manager who was always there to help out!

February was the start of our busy wedding season, with brides and grooms who had got engaged over Christmas, ordering their wedding invitation samples and save the date cards.

March, April, May, June, July and August Wedding Season was just hectic. During these months, as well as preparing invitation samples, chatting to brides about their invitation designs, there were lots of ceremony and reception stationery to design and make. Seating plans, Place name cards, Favour boxes, Guest Books, Menus, the list goes on. Stressful.... but a good job I work well under pressure! As I work on my own, I have to be really organized and prioritise my orders. All orders fulfilled and my happy brides and grooms all overjoyed with their stationery and ready for the most important day of their lives. I love knowing that a little part of Amor Designs is always at a wedding!

September I launched a new section on the website, offering Personalised gifts and wedding accessories. Do take a look, there are some unique and lovely gifts for the bride and groom, as well as wedding signs, card sacks for all the cards and presents you will get on the wedding day. The range of gifts and accessories will expand in 2017, I just haven't had the time to upload the website with new items.

October I added a Gallery section to the website, with invitations and stationery moodboards to inspire you. I created some colour schemes and wedding themes to project lots of different styles to give you ideas on what you can create. If you do have a theme in mind and you want me to create something for you please do ask me. So when you have chosen which style of invitations you like from our collections, I can put something together for you in a moodboard with your other wedding accesories, and you can see for yourself how your day will look.

After 10 years in my dream job doing what I love doing, its been hard work but the recognition of all my hard work by an amazing and inspiring business man like Theo has given me such a huge confidence boost to continue in improving my stationery business, learning from Theo and other #sbswinners and I look forward to new adventures. This is only the beginning! Here is my official link to the Small Business Sunday website http://theopaphitissbs.com/profile/1802/Amor-Designs You can read what SBS is all about and see how exciting this is for me.

I have been invited to attend the #SBS Event 2017 in February, which of course I will be attending. I am so excited but will be nervous on the day, as I will get to meet Theo Paphitis to pick up my winners certificate. Watch this space for further updates in 2017 of how it all went.
